I wish to offer a friendly personalized service to my clients. I aim to take the stress and hassle out of submitting tax returns and financial accounts so that my clients can spend more time on what they are good at.
I studied Purchasing Management for three years and qualified in 1992. After working for two years locally I went overseas to the U.K. where I worked for eight years and gained some valuable financial experience. On returning to South Africa I decided to get more qualified in finance as my degree and experience did not line up. So in 2014 I decided to specialize in Tax and in September 2015 I registered with the South African Institute of Tax Professionals.
I have enjoyed sailing and yachting for the best part of thirty years. I started sailing at the age of seven and I helped my Dad build our first boat called a Pacer. We then sailed a Halcat catamaran (like a Hobie) for six years. This progressed to yachting and day sailing a Holiday 23 off the Natal coast. Overseas I sailed and raced in a number of small craft in the Thames and in Chichester Harbour. On returning to South Africa my folks had acquired a Sadler 26, which we sailed in Algoa bay for many years. It was out sailing one day that I decided on the name “Mainstay” for my new business. I have signed an agreement with the Stellenbosch Farmers winery not to sell, distribute or promote any liquor under the name "Mainstay", then again that was never my intention in the first place.
